Access to Palliative Care Bill progresses to committee stage in House of Lords

Baroness Finlay – the British doctor and professor of palliative care who provided evidence for the Crown in Seales v Attorney-General – has introduced the Access to Palliative Care Bill in the House of Lords.

The bill, which was debated in the Lords in October, seeks to ensure that everyone in the UK is able to access high quality palliative and end of life care when they need it.

It will now be examined in further detail in committee stage, before going on to report stage and a third Lords reading; following that, the bill will reach the House of Commons.
